  • Lankatilaka Temple

The temple was built by King Buwanekabahu IV in 1344 AD during the Gampola period. It incorporates Sinhalese architecture of Polonnaruwa period with Dravidian and Indo Chinese styles.

  • Gadaladeniya Temple

Gadaladeniaya Temple was built by King Wickramabahu in 1344 AD during the Gampola Kingdom.

  • Ambekke Devalaya

According to legend, the Ambekke Devalaya was built during the Gampola period of King Wickrema Bahu II (1371 AD). The Devale is famed for its elaborate woodcarvings, pillars and other structures. The UNESCO has identified these marvellous but elaborate carvings on wooden pillars to be the finest products of woodcarvings to be found in any part of the world.

  • Udawatte Kele Sanctuary

Udawatta Kele Sanctuary or the Royal Forest Park of Kandy is situated on the hillside behind the Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Udawatta Kele was designated as a forest reserve in 1856, and it became a sanctuary in 1938.

  • St. Paul’s Church, Kandy

This church was built in 1843 and is decorated with wood carvings in Neo-Gothic Style, and the interior is English Victorian.

  • The Garrison Cemetery

This is a British cemetery in Kandy for British nationals who died in Ceylon. It was established in 1817 just after British captured Kandy and closed in 1873.

  • Prince of Wales Fountain

Erected by the Coffee Planters of Ceylon in Commemoration of the visit of Albert Edward, The Prince of Wales (1841-1910) to Kandy in December 1875.

  • Sri Dalada Maligawa / Museum

  • The Tea Museum, Hantana
