• Arankele
  Arankele is an archaeological site containing ruins of an ancient forest monastery. The monks who dwelt here were called ‘Pansukulika’ and they observed extreme austerity.

   

• Ritigala
  Ritigala is a miniature eco-system of varying climatic zones, the bottom being arid land – Dry Zone. At the center the climate is that of Kandy or Matale. At the top, you think you are at Horton Plains. There are sambur, deer, wild orchids, many species of birds and medicinal herbs.

   

• Hatthikuchchi
  Hatthikuchchi is where King Sirisangabo is believed to have severed his head from his body and given it to a poor traveler to be taken to King Gothabaya who had deposed him and put a price on his head.

• Namal Uyana
  Namal Uyana is believed to have existed as a sanctuary as far back as King Dappula IV in the 8th century who declared it a human sanctuary. Namal Uyana National Park is the largest Na Tree forest in the country and home to the largest Rose Quartz mountain range in South Asia.
